Ardsley

Why Live Here?
One of the things residents love most about Ardsley is the personal attention and warmth this small village exudes. Although it is part of the much larger Town of Greenburgh, Ardsley has a small town vibe and friendly atmosphere, and there are lots of wonderful residential areas with interesting and varied housing choices, including capes, ranches, split levels, and newer Colonials. Ardsley occupies a little over one square mile, adding to its excellent walkability index. Two of the draws of this charming village are proximity to New York City, and excellent schools, which, of course, enhance the quality of any town.

Ardsley’s location makes it a great choice for commuters. Though Ardsley does not have its own Metro-North station, the Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Scarsdale and Hartsdale stations are all easily reached and make the trip to Grand Central in about 40 minutes. Interstate 87, the Saw Mill Parkway and the Sprain Brook Parkway are easy to get to for car commuters. The Bee Line Bus System serves Ardsley with several lines that connect to many other towns as well as to the commuter rail stations.

The non-profit Rivertowns Art Council is a cooperative venture of Ardsley, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington and Dobbs Ferry. Its mission is to produce a wide range of high quality cultural events and educational programs, and it provides enrichment in the arts for residents. Often, these communities are referred to as the Quad Villages in the town of Greenburgh, and together provide just about any resource you might be seeking

The town’s recreational programs are also a major draw. There is a community center with a Youth Advocate, and programs offered include basketball for adults and kids, chess, soccer, and skateboard clinics. At Pascone Park, there are lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, and a picnic area, among other amenities, and seasonal concerts and movies are a part of what you find at McDowell Park.

Why We Love It!
I was in Ardsley the other day and stopped at Ardsley Cucina. Highly recommend. It has a lot of buzz and a big, local following. Makes sense; the staff is great and the food even better. ~ Chirag

Great for changing up your workout routine: When you live here you can swim in the middle school indoor pool during the fall, winter and spring and at the Ardsley Swim and Tennis Club all summer. ~ Maribel
